Special School Board Meeting - September 9, 2021

The Martin Public Schools Board of Education will be meeting on Thursday, September 9th, for the first public interviews with candidates for the school board to fill a current vacancy on the board. Following a second board meeting scheduled for Monday, September 13th, a candidate will be determined to fill the vacancy and complete the remaining term.

Filling the vacancy will be performed before the 30-day notice of vacancy expires. The candidate will begin their term for the regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, September 20th.

The meeting will take place at 6:30pm inside the Martin Public Schools Auditorium and the public can attend in person. The public notice of the meeting can be found here.

The appointed board member will complete an abbreviated term through December 31, 2022. The individual selected may then petition to be on the November 3, 2022, ballot and remain on the board until December 31, 2024, with a win during the election cycle.
